The Eastern Regional Health Authority wishes to advise the public on several measures which have been put into place for dengue management throughout the Eastern Region.

At the Sangre Grande Hospital to ease the flow of patients at the A&E:

  • The newly refurbished Ward 2 has been dedicated to review dengue cases and housing clients awaiting blood reports.
  • An additional eleven (11) beds have been added to Ward 2 primarily for the monitoring of dengue cases.
  • Seven (7) additional doctors have also been assigned to increase the compliment of physicians assigned to the A&E.
  • The A&E Department has been provided with additional Dengue Rapid Test Kits, in order to manage possible cases in a more efficient manner

At all our Health Facilities:

  • Ongoing Surveillance
