Therapeutic Care Unit opened at the National Radiotherapy Centre

Cancer Care in Trinidad and Tobago got an additional boost as the North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) formally opened the Therapeutic Care Unit 1 at the National Radiotherapy Centre (NRC) in St. James on 24th June, 2009. The project was completed in 1 year and 4 months at a cost of approximately $1.5 million.

Services include:

Therapeutic Services
Chemotherapy
Examination and Diagnosis
Caters for 24 patients

Features include:

Fully air-conditioned
Nurses' Station
Waiting area
Central common Area for use as TV, Dining and Lounge Area
24 Beds
Patient buzzer system
Built-in lockers
2 Doctors' Consultation Rooms
Separate Female and Male patients toilets and showers wth wheelchair accces
