Training Programme – Enrolled Nursing Assistants 2009
The Ministry of Health invites applications from suitably qualified persons to pursue a two (2) year full-time Education Programme for Enrolled Nursing Assistants.
Training is scheduled to commence on December 14, 2009.

PROGRAMME DETAILS:
The Nursing Assistant Programme is designed to expose trainees to selected theory and practice during the first six months of training, after which they are required to write the Nursing Council’s Examination. In addition, a practical examination will be conducted at the end of the first year, followed by a one (1) year internship.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
All applicants must:
(a) be citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; and
(b) be between the ages of seventeen (17) and forty-five (45) years.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:
All applicants must possess three (3) Ordinary Level subjects at G.C.E or C.X.C General Proficiency Level Grades I, II and III (from 1998 onward) inclusive of English Language.
N.B: Additional training in any health related areas would be a definite advantage.
CONDITIONS OF TRAINING:
A stipend will be offered;
Students will be required to provide their own uniforms, books, meals, accommodation and transport; and
Students will not be required to meet any tuition fees.
CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATION:
Upon entry to the programme, students will be required to enter into a contract to serve the Ministry of Health/Regional Health Authority (RHA) for a period of one (1) year following successful completion of training.
APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT:
(a) precise postal address and a telephone contact number;
(b) copies of academic G.C.E or C.X.C (General Proficiency Level)
Certificates;
(c) copies of two (2) testimonials [no older than six (6) months along with contact number for the person giving testimonial];
(d) copy of Birth Certificate and Affidavit, if necessary;
COLLECTION AND SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:
Applications must be completed on the approved form and submitted to the RHA where the applicant would like to be employed, no later than November 20, 2009. Applications must be addressed to the General Manager, Human Resources, of the selected RHA, as listed from (a) to (e) below.
