Ministry of Health Update 1

Members of the public are advised that they may experience difficulty accessing the Sangre Grande Hospital due to flooding along the roadways leading to the facility.

Operations of the Sangre Grande Hospital continue and patients and staff are safe. Patients continue to receive care as emergency mechanisms were proactively activated. The Sangre Grande Enhanced Health Centre is, out of necessity, closed at this time due to impassable roadways.

Members of the public who require non-emergency medical assistance are advised to visit the Valencia Outreach Centre at Alexander Street Valencia, Trinidad. Health facilities in Toco, Mayaro, Rio Claro, Brother’s Road and Grand Riviere are also opened.  Members of the public who reside in these areas are strongly advised to proceed with caution when accessing the facilities if urgent health care is needed.

Persons with medical emergencies are asked to proceed to the Arima District Health Facility located at Queen Mary Avenue, Arima.
