Charitable Cardiac Surgery The Charitable Cardiac Surgery Programme facilitates the provision of cardiac surgery to citizens and residents of Trinidad and Tobago.
Target Group Persons who are rerferred by a cardiologist after consultation with the medical social works department of the RHAs, in need of heart surgery and are unable to meet the cost."
How do I access this service? A patient must be referred by a cardiologist to the Social Works department of the RHA (Regional Health Authority) to which they belong. A psycho-social assessment is done on the patient and the social worker presents the case to a committee, where a decision is taken.
